As of today, we have 10 weeks left of 2019. A question was recently posed to me, and it was, where do you see yourself a year from now? The best answer I could give was not where I am today. Because I didn’t really know.
Where do you see yourself a year from now?
When I started realizing I could not honestly answer the question, although I did say, “not where I am today,” I elaborated. I put myself where I’d love to see myself a year from now. And what I realize is, if that’s really where I want to be a year from now, I have a lot of work to do. I realized to get there, it’s about hunkering down and taking control of my schedule.
It’s about getting the family on board and making sure my day to day schedule, moment by moment, is at the fullest capacity; all while taking care of myself. Because we don’t want to explode or implode.
So, I want to ask you the same question: Where do you see yourself a year from now? Are you living such an amazing life that you’re walking on cloud nine and living the dream? If so… That is Awesome.
What do you believe?
Are you someone who believes, “my life is great, but if it’s a year from now and I’m still here, I’m going to be upset” or are you someone saying, “my life is absolutely miserable. I can’t even survive the next year.” I want you to think about what your answer would be because it’s going to show you where you are versus where you want to be and the work that you have to do to get there.
Personal development now and a year from now
Here’s what I know. When you are working on personal development and working towards your own goals and what you want to do, it’s not work. It’s passion, it’s perseverance, and it’s purpose. It’s not like the working nine to five. Trust me, I know I work a lot of nine to fives… and beyond. I can tell you that last week I had a free day because I was supposed to be in Florida for training and it got postponed. I started working on my brand instead of my other businesses and the day went by so quickly, I got so much done and it was very light, and I thought, “Oh, this is what working on my brand full-time would feel like!” It was pretty cool.
I share this with you because I want you to think about the work you need to put time into. You need to put in the energy into where you really want to be in a year. I know with me that if I can become that person, if I can be where I want to be a year from now, I will take massive steps towards my goals. I want you to think about that this week. Where would you like to be a year from now? What does that look like and what do you have to do to get there?
Unlocking the person you want to be
Because I’ll tell you what, everything you need to become that person, and to be where you want to be a year from now, is inside of you. It’s locked up. That’s why unleash your inner superhero is so important to me because I’m unleashing mine and I know from being a hermit to being a hero has been quite a transformation for me. And in the end, I still have a lot more to release and I want you to do the same. I want you to let out that person inside that’s so timid to do things, to be the person she’s destined to be. I want you to let her or him out, let them out because, here’s the thing, you are holding back from the entire world one of the most important assets of this world because you’re too afraid of what people are going to think.
What are you afraid of?
You’re too afraid of what people are going to say. You’re too afraid of what is going to change. Yeah, there’s going to be change, but it’s going to be even more awesome than it ever was before. Let her out, let him out. Even if it’s just a bit by bit. I feel like I am still unleashing my inner superhero! I have so much more inside me – I can just feel it. And it’s about time that I act on that and I want you to do the same thing. Be crazy. Be kooky and dance around the house, kiss your teenage boys’ cheeks all day, or whatever is inside of you. When you have that urge to do something, when you feel, “Oh, I really just want to go dance in the rain,” but you don’t or “I really want to just go roll around on the beach,” but you don’t. When those urges come up, take them.
If it’s pouring rain outside and you’re thinking, “Oh, I remember splashing in the puddles when I was a kid. That was so much fun.” Do it. Who cares what anybody else thinks? And actually, if you went outside and started dancing in the rain, your neighbours would look out the window and say, “what are they doing?” But by the end they will be smiling because you have introduced happiness to someone else. I want you to think about that. Whatever those urges are, I want you to act on them. It will be scary, but it’s so liberating and as I told someone last week, life starts on our side of fear.
What do you have to fear?
I invite you to do those fun things and face your fears of looking silly. I would love to hear from you, post in the Facebook Group, comment below or email me. I’d love to hear what kooky things you are now going to do!
